Case Study: Airliebeach.Com Upgrades Their Travel Software
Upgrading Travel Software Helps Airlie Beach Save Money and Win Australian Small Business Award
AirlieBeach.com is the Whitsundays Central Reservation Centre located in the heart of the Whitsundays, Australia. The business, owned by Tony and Lolita Laurent, has recently experienced success in winning the Telstra 2012 Australian Small Business Award for Queensland.
Before Tony discovered TourWriters tour operator specific travel software, Airlie Beach’s business processes were all manual. His staff would handwrite tickets and vouchers, then manually transfer data into MYOB. They then discovered and began using TourWriter in 2010.
TourWriter revolutionised their workflows by bringing together supplier information, itinerary creation, accounting process and even basic CRM functionality. The reporting functionality allowed Airlie Beach management to easily see how sales and staff were progressing at the click of a button. TourWriter also helped slash Airlie Beaches admin budget. Cynthia, the Airlie Beach store manager says “it now takes only around 2 hours per week to complete the accounting processes”. That is down from around 20 hours a week pre TourWriter – saving Airlie Beach around A$15,000 per year.

Team at AirlieBeach.com
The Airlie Beach team of 8 use TourWriter to automate their reservation process, speeding up quote turnaround times, which helps to secure website enquiries. “TourWriter travel software is very flexible. It is easy to add new products and adjust (override) prices. We have so many different tour companies with price changes and TourWriter allows us to adjust pricing easily”.
